Do’s & Don’ts of Denture Repairs
It's a horrible feeling when you first notice a chip or crack in your dentures. Should you fix your dentures yourself? Is it even possible to perform DIY denture repairs? This article discusses the dos and don'ts of denture repair and the best way to restore your smile.
Should I Superglue My Broken Denture?
No.
This is the only answer we can give. Never try to fix a broken denture with superglue. You might think it will work fine and that you are saving money, but that's not the case.
Not only is superglue not designed to be used on products that go into the mouth, but it's also very difficult to get the pieces perfectly aligned. Place the broken pieces in a sealed plastic bag and call the friendly team at All Smiles Denture Clinic as soon as possible.
Is Superglue Toxic?
Yes.
We can say for sure that superglue straight out of the tube is toxic.
There's no way to know what effects saliva and the food and drink you put in your mouth will have on the glue. Always be on the safe side and don't use superglue on your dentures.
When we repair your dentures, we use materials & products that are non toxic and meet Australian Health and safety standards. These are tested and approved by health experts and safe to use in your mouth.
Please do not use super glue to repair your denture.
How Much Do Denture Repairs Cost?
All dentures are unique, and they can break in a lot of different ways. It's impossible to give an exact price, but the starting price for denture repair is just $150.
In our experience, attempting to fix your dentures yourself will almost certainly result in the need for a new set, so professional repairs are your most affordable option.
The best way to know how much a denture repair will cost is to bring them in. We can then figure out how much time and materials will be needed for the job and provide you with an exact price.
Do You Do Same Day Denture Repairs on the Sunshine Coast?
Yes.
We keep a number of appointments available every day for denture repairs.
Some repairs are quick and easy and we can do it while you wait.
Other denture repairs are more complex and require more time and expertise. This might require you to have a morning appointment and then you can pick up the repaired denture in the afternoon.
We understand how inconvenient it is to be without your false teeth, which is why the helpful staff at All Smiles Denture Clinic on the Sunshine Coast will make your dentures a top priority.
Same-day repairs are possible if it's a clean break. However, when there are a lot of pieces to put back together or some pieces are missing, we may need a little more time. Rest assured; complex jobs are given top priority.
Are your dentures broken? Please don't try to fix them yourself. Pack up all the pieces and call our clinic today. We'll do our utmost to restore your smile as quickly as possible.
