Denture FAQs
1. What types of dentures do you offer?
We offer a range of denture options, including full dentures, partial dentures, implant dentures, and immediate dentures. Darius will work with you to determine which option is best suited to your needs.
2. How long does it take to get dentures made?
The length of time it takes to get dentures can vary depending on the complexity of the case. It takes approximately 3-4 weeks to make full upper and lower dentures.
Partial dentures will also take 3-4 weeks to be made, but partial chrome dentures will take 4 weeks. Darius can give you a more accurate timeline based on your individual needs.
3. Will my dentures look natural?
Yes, we take great care to ensure that your dentures look as natural as possible.
We will work with you to choose the right size, shape, and colour of teeth.
We take a lot of time and effort to make sure that your dentures fit comfortably and securely.
4. How do I care for my dentures?
It is important to clean your dentures regularly to prevent the buildup of bacteria and plaque.
RULE NO.1 Do not use toothpaste to clean your dentures!
Use a soft-bristled brush and mild soap or denture cleaner to clean your dentures, and be sure to soak them overnight in a denture cleaning solution.
We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your dentures.
5. Can I eat normally with dentures?
Yes, you should be able to eat most foods with your dentures.
However, it may take some time to adjust to eating with dentures, and you may need to start with softer foods and gradually work your way up to harder, chewier foods.
6. Do I have to see a dentist for dentures?
In Australia, you do not need to see a dentist for dentures. Instead, you can see a Dental Prosthetist, who is a specifically trained and qualified dental professional that specialises in the construction, fitting, and adjustment of dentures.
While dentists can also provide dentures, they are not specifically trained for this area of practice. Dental Prosthetists, on the other hand, have undergone extensive training in the design, construction, and fitting of dentures, and are often more experienced in this area than dentists.
Overall, while both dentists and Dental Prosthetists can provide dentures, it is often recommended to see a Dental Prosthetist specifically for denture-related services.
