Types of Dentures
Are there different types of dentures? How will I know which ones I need?
There are two types of dentures - removable partial dentures and full dentures. Darius will consult with you to determine which ones will work best for you
A removable partial denture attaches to your natural teeth with metal clasps or precision attachments. This means you may be able to keep some teeth.
A complete denture can be either "conventional" or "immediate". Immediate dentures are inserted right after your teeth have been extracted, so you won't be without teeth for any period of time.
"Conventional" dentures are made after your teeth have been removed and gums have healed. This can be anywhere from six to eight weeks after your teeth are taken out.
If you have any questions regarding a new or old denture, please feel free to phone us and speak to Darius or Tom, our Dental Prosthetists. We have two clinics, one in Buderim and one in Bribie Island.
